Debra Musgrove Candidate for Ramsey City Council At Large
Debra Musgrove Candidate for Ramsey City Council At Large
Making the decision to serve as Ramsey City Council At Large as not been an easy decision. Knowing that public service is sometime a thankless duty and long hours dedicated to study and research details of each case are needed. However, with that comes the understanding that in public service one takes on the challenges and successes with all the work it entails to make the lives of residents and business better. So why am I running as a candidate for Ramsey City Council At Large.
Experience- Having served as Ramsey City Council for Ward 4 from 2019 to 2024; I have demonstrated that I am willing to full fill the duty of public service. Currently I am serving on the Planning Commission and have stay aware of issues in Ramsey. I have historical understanding of where the city has progressed with development, policy updates and heard concerns of taxpaying residents in Ramsey. Other Committees that I have served on include LRRWMO from 2018 to 2024, Public work member and Chair, first City Council Liaison to the Planning Commission, AC Joint Fire Commission, EPB and Park and Rec Commission Liaison.
Proven Outcomes - Ramsey development since 2018 has seen good outcomes. Business growth to serve Ramsey residents and grow the tax base has occurred along Hwy 47 and in the COR while striving to keep rural parts of Ramsey preserved. Working to bring in retail business into the COR has been a comment voiced by residents throughout my prior time on Council and continues to be a concern of taxpayers. Responsible business growth to support a balance of retail and business growth with that of city government growth.
Ramsey city has benefited from the Public Works building and the Water Treatment Plant both of which I supported. There are still concerns with pay off of the Public Works building. The Water Treatment Plant financing was done with more strategic planning and we needed to continue with that model of financing where growth in city government is concerned.
Securing a Road Maintenance Fund to allow staff to better plan and complete road funding projects. I believe this has served residents well and since the time that the Road Maintenance Fund was planned there have been more road projects completed and fewer resident complaints.
Leadership by Listening- While serving on the council in the past and when elected At Large I will do my duty to listen to the resident taxpayers and make decisions that improve their lives and the Life in Ramsey. I have proven this by advocating for residents and listening to their concerns. Not every outcome was totally what residents wanted or completed in a time frame that was convienent but with listening, researching information and thoughtful deliberation many problems were resolved in a manner that benefited residents and businesses.
There are many other reasons to support my campaign, these are just a few. Please reach out with questions or concerns,
Ready to serve,
Debra Musgrove
